Ritu Kumari, The Real Hero

Ritu became part of our family at the Blind Welfare Society in 2019.  She hails from hisar district of Haryana and has been living with blindness since her birth. Dedicated and up strong about her aims, she got admitted in our hostel forher Post-Graduation from Delhi University. Ritu was hardworking and determined, her persistence amazed us. Ritu started preparing for the competitive examinations after her studies.  She was like a fire which could never be put out. Blind Welfare Society identified that Ritu was an asset to them. She was out there to prove her worth to the society. She was not weak, she was geared up to face the cruel world, and she was self- sufficient. Blind Welfare Society couldn’t let such talent go to waste and thus provided Ritu with all the required educational appliances essential for her studies like Laptop, Daisy Player and Screen Reading Software. . We ensured that we would let her rise as high as she could. She couldn’t get through her initial 2 or 3 attempts, but life did not draw the finishing line there. She was striving to reach her goal with all her efforts. She Finally cleared the Clerical examination at Punjab National Bank. Today, she has a successful career, working as Single Window Operator at PNB.

She is an inspiration to our girls. Failure doesn’t mark the end of life, it is just the beginning. No matter where we are placed, if we strive hard we are sure to head towards a brighter future.
