Suman, from Bijnor, Utter Pradesh is blind from birth. However, visual impairment did not deter her from pursuing her ambition of seeking economic self-reliance. With great perseverance, she managed to finish her studies and started exploring opportunities for employment. Since there is dearth of such opportunities in her hometown, she decided to shift to Delhi in 2019 with an aspiration to crack competitive examinations for government services. she came in contact with Blind Welfare Society and became part of our family.
After joining us, Suman enrolled her for B.Ed. from Delhi University. Besides this, she was also preparing to clear the competitive examinations for the government employment. Blind Welfare Society provided her requisite resources for her studies. She subsequently appeared for the exams but was not successful in her first three attempts. However, failure made her more determined to succeed. She became more diligent and more confident. And she finally cracked the Multi Task Employee examination at Staff Selection Commission.
Brimming with a new found confidence, she is ready to enjoy an independent life. Blind Welfare Society supported in her endeavor to achieve her goal. She is an inspiration for the girls at the hostel and many other Visually Impaired people like her.
